WONDER WHEEL
My Dear Ladies,
My name is Svetlana Bugrimova (for your convenience I changed it into Lana B’uri). I am a Beauty Advisor and Makeup Artist. I am also the author of a beautiful book Little Magic Mirror I wrote for you using my experience in the Beauty field. Presently, I am finishing my second book and have two more projects in my mind. Here’s my story to explain my life choice and activities.
I was born a few decades ago in a very beautiful place by the blue-blue sea, which by some unknown reason was called Black. My life there was good and comfortable, but my soul was searching for other new experiences. That search brought me into the Land of Opportunities a few years ago. I cannot complain; I’ve got all these experiences…
If you ever went to an amusement park with your friends or kids, you know the feeling of getting on the Wonder Wheel. There is a desire to see the world from the top, when it becomes huge, endless and tiny at the same time. This desire is mixed with a deep-hidden fear to take risks (any adventure is risky). The motion itself makes you feel dizzy and fear knocks you into stomach when you try to look down. But what a reward to reach the top and feel your heart full of joy and freedom of conquering and have your mind revel in the beauty of the surrounding world! It’s like my journey to America.
It started from the desire to explore the world and I conquered many fears on the way. It was a journey of survival and looking for the place in a new life. Having graduated from the College of Foreign Languages with the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in foreign languages back in Russia I never had problem with communication in English; I even continued my education in the USA in computer literacy, English and paralegal studies. However, I had to work hard to change my mentality (“When in Rome, do like the Romans do,” they say) while keeping my own individuality unaffected.
I tried different “suits” on: a legal assistant in law offices for a few years, a Mary Kay beauty advisor for a few years, a freelance makeup artist and skincare specialist working with different cosmetic companies in New York stores. All these experiences and hard work led me gradually into writing my first book Little Magic Mirror, which reveals “secrets” of the Beauty world for ordinary, busy women like me.
On my website you can find more information about my activities and my book(s). I welcome you to explore this charming world and share your thoughts about our women’s life. You can address any feelings, questions and ideas to me; I’ll try my best to respond to them. You are welcome to ask for my professional help to find your image. You may order my book from this website (either hard copy or e-book version). It could make very pretty inexpensive gift for your loved ones for any kind of occasion. You also have a chance to join a creative team working with me at my other projects. We are looking for talented makeup artists, illustrators, designers, models, business people, etc. making their first steps on the road to success.
Good Luck to you in your journey! Sincerely,
Lana B’uri.
Once upon a time there lived a Princess…
She was young and beautiful…
Well, not so young and not so beautiful anymore. While she was waiting for her Prince Charming on the white horse, she did not notice how her face and body had started to show time. It was very depressing to look into the mirror every morning.
You know these mirrors with their nobody-needs-the-truth reflections. At some point, she realized that it was already difficult to charm even married “princes” whose life-horses looked more like mules. And she still was there in the basement, fulfilling a difficult, depressing job, without enough support of any kind, completely in debt, with her face and body aging every minute…
Where did she find strength to believe in a miracle? How did she manage to get her Cinderella shoes? What gave her power to change life circumstances within less than three years? What magical remedy helped her change her whole look and to return her natural beauty within three months? What sign did God send her as an answer to the prayer? What secrets of beauty and life did she discover on her way to share with you? …
All the answers and much more you will find inside the book…
In my book Little Magic Mirror you can find the following information:
1. How to create a new image and even “new” skin
within 3 months;
2. How to spend less than 30 minutes a day for your
beauty needs and look great;
3. How to create simple and less expensive skincare
and makeup shelf;
4. How to spend less than 10 minutes of “busy-bee”
morning for makeup application and look fresh;
5. How to start to feel free, self-confident and more
feminine and much, much more.

There is a belief: “If you water a dry plant every day, praying for it to blossom, one day there is a good chance that you’ll see flowers, as real faith and persistence create miracles.”
I jumped into the bright and mysterious world of Cosmetics due to my personal necessity (huge problems with my own skin). Within a short period of time I achieved great results using only the products offered on the market which I could afford. Plus, I made it my profession to help others solve the skin problems and find their best image. I’ve been working as a Beauty consultant and makeup artist with numerous companies: Chanel, Mary Kay, Shiseido, all skincare in Sephora. I’ve been creating makeup for models at a Manhattan photo-studio, working with a fashion photographer. The result of my professional experience you can see below.
Look at these faces! So young and so beautiful… And still… What about these images “before” and “after”? Do you see this tremendous difference? That’s right, “It’s not only about makeup. The world of your thoughts and emotions influences your physical world dramatically and vice verse.” I may help you find your best image and we can look closer into your “beauty shelf.” We can clean clutter and I’ll teach you some simple makeup “tricks”. We even can go to stores together to look for your new face cream. I may join your women’s group of any kind (girlfriends’ party, office team gathering, etc.) and we’ll spend some time brightening your faces and your lives. I’ll share with you many “secrets” of charismatic world of Cosmetics and Beauty… But you are the one who can control, influence and change your emotions and thoughts about yourself and the world around you! It’s simple. Look into your Mirror and SMILE!

TALENT or Ability
The dictionary says: “Talent – natural endowment or ability of a superior quality.”
How many centuries more does the humanity need to resolve Mozart-Solieri conflict? How to feel and catch such an illusive difference between talent and ability? “Ability – the quality of being able to do something, especially the physical, mental, financial, or legal power to accomplish something,” the dictionary explains (sounds more down to earth to me). What to consider a true talent expending beyond an ordinary human ability? How do we know that in one case there is a masterpiece in front of us and in another just a well-done work? Is it possible to unfold natural abilities into breathtaking expression of talent through hard work and goal-oriented attitude? What does it take all in all to accomplish this task? What makes talent die before it blossoms into a creation of pure Beauty? How to save and develop this precious gift?
To me talent means:
- natural abilities hidden on the level of genetic inheritance;
- hard work and a packed “sack” of educational certificates and experiences behind your back (for example, a Masters of Fine Arts in Photography from the School of Visual Arts in New York City);
- never-give up attitude to life circumstances in following your dream (maybe even rejection of your parents’ decision to send you to a medical school while you’re eager to devote your life to Arts and photography);
- never dying sense of wonder about this quite interesting world;
- sensitivity and open-minded perception of new ideas;
- ability to differentiate fake and veritable quality of things etc.
On the way of writing and pre-publishing process of putting my book together I met many talented or just “capable” people who contributed a lot into this expression of world’s Beauty. But one person really touched my heart. I discovered this growing talent in the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where Julia Bedriy had been working on a Master’s degree in photography. Working for my project as a photographer, stylist, and graphic designer this young woman also showed qualities of a strong and reliable person with very sensitive soul and unique vision of things. I know I am blessed with this meeting and hope to work with this wonderful, talented person on my future projects.
I just want to add at the end that trying to bring my book into reality of the world I faced the problem of finding just few thousand dollars in a “filthy rich” America for printing only a couple of thousand copies of the book (if you read these words now, it means I solved the problem successfully). Such a hardship gave me an idea to create a special account or fund to support talented people, like Julia, with new-starting projects and brilliant ideas in the field of Arts. In the future, I plan to transfer 10 % of profit from my publishing and consulting business activities to this fund. It will be my way to say: “Beauty will save the world!”
Presently, we are looking for new talents to build our creative team. People of arts and business making their first steps on the road of success are welcome.

GREAT NEWS!!!
On November 15, 2006 Little Magic Mirror was presented to customers and readers in a very special, festive and charming atmosphere of Christmas windows being unveiled at Lord and Taylor department store in New York City. Our guests had complimentary consultations on skincare and makeup application, makeovers and delicious desert! They left home with wonderful products, beautiful makeup on, the book as a gift and in good spirit. It's a best way to get ready for the holiday season!
The first readers of the book expressed their feeling and wishes:
"Dear Svetlana, thank you for your lovely book. I wish you the best of luck."

"What I like the most is that the book uplifts the spirits and is very optimistic. I am trying to use some of your ideas - like pampering myself once a week, or using natural cosmetics (last Friday I went to Sephora and spent almost an hour with the lady that sells Caudalie)."

Author’s Desk:
Like Mother, like Daughter
My Dear Ladies,
I wrote this book of re-told fairy tales so your soul-mind could recollect wonderful memories of your own childhood.
Remembering myself as a little girl, I see my mother telling me a new story to comfort me and help me to forget my “little tragedies”. She brought a sense of miracle, mystery and wisdom into my life by whispering these fairy tales into my little ears years ago.
Now it’s my turn to re-tell these wonderful and magical stories back to the world, so it could bring more peace and beauty on this planet.
Sincerely yours,
Lana B’uri (Svetlana Bugrimova)
P.S. All the activity based on the present book will benefit in different ways those children whose carefree childhood was stolen.
About the Book:
One little Soul was ready for a trip to the Blue Planet and she had her last conversation with the Creator: “My dearest Child, I am sending you on a special mission to the planet. Your life there is not going to be easy. It will be a difficult life of despair, suffering and pain. You will never feel real love of a father or a mother. Nobody will ever come to save you from your sorrows. But if you still manage to keep hope and faith in your heart, and if you smile through your tears, I’ll give you a wonderful gift for your birthday – pure-white angel wings. Having such powerful wings in your possession you’ll be able to help thousands of other people, especially children, in any kind of troubles on the planet and it will be your mission. Would you agree to go now?”
Tell me who doesn’t want to have such a precious gift as angel wings? And Little Nixzmary agreed to be born.

"Angel Wings for Birthday" book-presentation event will be held in "Pen & Brush" gallery at E16 10th Street in Manhattan on January 18th of 2008 from 6:30pm till 9:30pm. You are invited to share with us wonderful moments of fairy-tales reading, meeting old and making new friends, delicious food and wine. Entrance $10.00 per person.
The story of a little girl, Nixzmary Brown, brutally killed by her step-father in January of 2006, was shocking for everyone in New York City, even though she never received any sufficient help or any attention from the outside world during her full of suffering life. Hopefully, the main story of the book, written in the form of a fairy-tale, will touch our tough hearts and help to make positive changes for those children who live such troublesome lives today .
Angel Wings for Birthday is a book created with a special purpose to benefit those lives, which might be hanging at the edge of complete destruction at the moment, but still have a chance to be saved and flourish into a special beautiful destiny one day. Many blessings and success! Major part of the activity based on the book will be presented at this page. Your comments, ideas and any kind of help are welcome!
